**USDA Whole Chicken Is Coming in July**
We finally did it. After 4 years of building, planning, paperwork, inspections, upgrades, stress, learning, and not giving up, Neiffer Ranch Poultry is officially USDA licensed.
That means our USDA whole chickens will be available at the Richland, WA Farmers Market and through our buying clubs starting in the middle of July.
Whole chickens are available right now, but this current batch was processed under our Oregon state license. So if you want chicken before the USDA birds are ready for Richland Farmers Market and our Buying Clubs, you’ll need to pick up in Lexington, Oregon ( a lil over an hour from TriCities WA).
This is a huge step for our ranch and butcher shop. We are one of only a few small USDA-licensed poultry facilities in Washington and Oregon, and we are excited to bring locally raised, USDA-inspected chicken to our customers.
And because waste matters to us too, what does not go into the package goes back into our compost system, helping build soil and grow better pasture for the next round of animals.
Thank you for sticking with us while we worked toward this. July is going to be a big one.
