Students eat their lunch and toss their leftovers in reusable buckets.
We pick up the food waste buckets daily at the school and feed it to our sows.
We use the deep bedding method for sows allowing the hog poo (nitrogen) and bedding material (carbon) to decompose creating a rough compost. Annually, we clean out the area and spread that compost on our pasture to use as fertilizer to feed the grass for our livestock.
